First Snapdragon 820 Phone Costs Only $306

BARCELONA—One of the hottest products of CES, the Le Max Pro from LeEco (formerly Letv)  finally has a price in Cathay: a mere $306, or less than half what Samsung is going to be charging for its Galaxy S7.

MWC Bug Art The Le Max Pro, of course, was the get-go telephone announced with Qualcomm'southward brand-new Snapdragon 820 processor, the flagship flake at present seen in both LG's G5 and Samsung's Galaxy S7 models.

Nosotros have a hands on from CES, where our Alex Colon establish the massive 6.3-inch phablet to be the fastest phone he had seen nonetheless. The Antutu benchmark score that he received of 132,000 was in the same ballpark as the scores on the pre-release Galaxy S7 models we've seen here at MWC.

LeEco is a major amusement and electronics company in Cathay that currently sells phones only in China, Hong Kong, Macau, and India. It competes heavily with other high-quality, low-cost Android providers that aren't bachelor in the U.S., such every bit Xiaomi and Meizu, which is function of why we're seeing such a compellingly low price for this telephone.

Oddly, LeEco notwithstanding doesn't have a hard date for this phone, so we don't know whether information technology will come out before the Milky way S7'southward launch appointment of March 11. If it was coming that soon, though, we'd probably have a date on information technology by now.

LeTV's Will Park said that the company hasn't appear availability in the U.S., but that it yet intends to enter the U.S. with some products, at some fourth dimension, in the near futurity.
